114 applications already received for the Moscow Spring A Cappella Contest: Call extended until April 10

Moscow’s 3rd annual open international Spring A Cappella competition will be held from May 1 to 12 this year. At the moment, more than 114 singers and bands from all over the world have applied to participate. Seventy-one of the requests have come from Russia’s regions and 43 from 20 foreign countries, including Germany, Great Britain, Paraguay, Austria, Puerto Rico, the USA, Spain, China, Namibia, South Africa, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, and the Maldives. The event’s organizers have decided to extend the application period until April 10. Applications can be submitted on the festival’s official website:

The Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival is one of the world’s largest a cappella singing contests. In 2018, it saw more than 8,000 songs performed by 184 participants representing 16 countries, including individuals, bands, and even large choirs! Talented artists from all over Russia and abroad came to participate and sang on stages set up on the capital’s streets and squares. Even balconies and rooftops were transformed into venues for this event! 

Year after year, interest in the festival has been growing, and its geographic reach is expanding. At the moment, more than 114 applications from Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa have been received at For the first time, applications from the Maldives, South Africa, Namibia, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, and Paraguay have been accepted, making these participants competition newbies!

The call for applications has been extended until April 10. Singers or groups may perform music representing different styles and genres, including jazz, soul, rock, blues, gospel, folk, country, and R&B. Contest programs should consist of a non-repeating repertoire of music with an overall length of 20 to 30 minutes.
