The folklore ensemble "Balagan" was established in 2011 and works in conjunction of the Institute of Culture and Youth Policy (ICYP) of the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University.
The ensemble, which consists of 13 participants, performs songs from the Novosibirsk region and Altai Krai, household dances, and quadrilles. It has even mastered some genres of puppet and dramatic folk theatre. All participants perform in traditional handmade costumes, made according to samples of authentic costumes worn by settlers and old residents of the Novosibirsk region.
